Telisa!

Innovative. Passionate. Inspirational. Unique. Loving.

Emmy-nominated leader, visionary entrepreneur, and community advocate, Dr. Telisa Franklin, was born and raised in the historic Douglass community of Memphis, Tennessee. Overcoming a challenging childhood marked by the loss of her father and the hardships of her community, Telisa drew strength from her faith and the unwavering support of her grandparents, who instilled in her the values of perseverance, service, and family. As the second of five siblings, she took on the role of a leader early in life, raising her younger brothers with the belief that “failure is not an option.”

With a relentless drive for growth, Telisa pursued advanced education in theology, divinity, and Christian counseling, earning multiple degrees that strengthened her passion for helping others. Inspired by her grandfather’s legacy as a pastor, she built her life on a foundation of faith, hard work, and community impact.

Today, Telisa is a powerhouse entrepreneur and leader. She serves as the President of Telisa Franklin Media, Memphis Juneteenth, and I Love My Community CDC. A sought-after motivational speaker, licensed life coach, Christian counselor, and Certified Peer Recovery Specialist in mental health, she is also certified in diversity and inclusion. Beyond her entrepreneurial efforts, Telisa is an engaging on-air radio and television personality, connecting with audiences through her inspiring message of hope and empowerment.

As an author, Telisa has penned four impactful books: Team Victorious, MVP, Juneteenth Activity Book, and Faith and Finances, further solidifying her commitment to education, empowerment, and celebrating culture.

As a community advocate, Telisa organizes transformative events across the Mid-South, inspiring change and fostering unity. She proudly serves in leadership roles on various boards, is a Clergy Ambassador for the Memphis Police Department, and is a graduate of Leadership Memphis, Leadership Bartlett, and Leaders of Color. Her commitment to equipping the next generation is evident in her active membership with organizations such as the Junior League of Memphis, NAACP, Memphis Central Rotary Club, the Memphis Chapter of 100 Black Women, and Drifters Memphis Chapter.

A devoted mother, Telisa takes great pride in her son, Charles Earl, a college student and emerging entrepreneur who embodies the values she has worked so hard to instill. Her journey is a testament to the power of faith, resilience, and a life committed to service and leadership.
